the deal, IN CONSULTATION WITH ME and maybe also with your advisors, a paper on what vector calculus is used for in your chosen major field of study. 3 pages typewritten single spaced with citations. No more than 1/3 of the citations may be from wikipedia or course notes. for citation style check any journal article from your chosen discipline. Any questions, contact me. NO PLAGIARISM, if you copy paste you should quote it, no more than 1/4 of the words may be quoted.
THIS IS WORTH 10 Exam points. (that said, it's not for free. If you don't spend the effort to turn in a serious piece of work it's worth a lot less)
Due the Monday after Thanksgiving
Awesome! Super grateful for the extra credit opportunity! Anyone know how many points this is worth?
ReplyDeleteSo do we have to contact you first to speak about what we are going to write about or what exactly do you mean by consultation with you?
ReplyDeleteThe notion is that most calc 267 students have not yet had enough experience with their major to know exactly how vector calculus is used--the reason why the engineering college wants us to teach it to you early is they want you to be able to use it when they get down to the nitty-gritty engineering design stuff. So if you'd like to talk to me about it I can steer you in a good direction. You're welcome to talk to your engineering faculty to get direction as well/instead if you like, of course.
